Travel in comfort from Timaru Port to the alpine village of Lake Tekapo, where you’ll enjoy free time to stretch your legs, take photos, and soak up the views of the turquoise lake and surrounding peaks. From here, your expert Tekapo Adventures guide collects you in a premium 4WD to explore a privately owned high-country sheep station—a landscape rarely seen by visitors.


Wind through vast tussock plains, braided river valleys, and rolling alpine foothills, with panoramic views of the Southern Alps. This is a photographer’s dream and a genuine taste of New Zealand’s backcountry heritage.

This tour starts with a private driver who will transport you in a 2wd vehicle to Lake Tekapo. 


Once in Tekapo you have some time to explore the town for 30 minutes, and then your private 4wd driver will come to pick you up in a 4WD off road vehicle and take you to the private sheep station for exploring. Upon return to Lake Tekapo, you will then swap vehicles and meet you driver for transport back to Timaru Port.
